S2S Bulky — Romney
A beautiful bulky yarn with luster.
This Romney comes from my friend Ellyn at Wool-e Farms in Virginia — bulky weight, substantial in your hands. Good for fast knits, thick texture, projects that want to be felt as much as seen. This is a medium wool.
The two reds are both dyed with lac, the variation in color coming from two different shades of grey yarn, the darker, Sangria and the slightly muted, Bordeaux. Although the yellow/greens are similar, “Chartreuse” comes from red onion skins and “Vermouth”, slightly more muted, from my homegrown coreopsis. They were also dyed over different natural shades of grey wool.
All skeins are 100g
They vary slightly in length:
Chartreuse - 51 yds
Vermouth - 51-53 yds
Sangria - 60 yds
Bordeaux - 51-61 yds
