A full-day weaving workshop
Krokbragd is one of those techniques that looks far more complicated than it is — a traditional Scandinavian pattern weave with a bold, graphic quality that seems like it belongs on a four-shaft loom. Surprise: you can achieve this technique on a rigid heddle. All it needs is a three-shaft setup, and that's exactly where we'll begin.
In this full-day workshop, Kim — a Colorado weaver and longtime member of the FAB community making her teaching debut with us this year — will walk you through everything from the three-shaft setup to the rhythmic, satisfying process of building Krokbragd patterns row by row. Looms arrive pre-warped so you spend your time weaving, not waiting. By the end of the day you'll have one or two finished mug rugs and a technique that opens a whole new range of possibilities on a loom you may already own.
Bring your own rigid heddle loom with a 7.5 or 8 dent heddle — warping instructions will be sent to you ahead of class — or rent one of Kim's for $10 for the day. Looms are also available for purchase after class.
All levels welcome — if you've never touched a rigid heddle loom before, you're in good hands.
Supply Fee: $15 — includes a heddle rod, pickup stick, and weft yarn for all students.
Don't have a rigid heddle loom? Add $10 to rent one of Kim's for the day, pre-warped and ready to go.
Bringing your own loom? Warping instructions will be sent to you ahead of class so you arrive ready to weave.
Supply Fee - $15 or $25 with use of loom, to be paid to the instructor at the workshop
Sunday July 26 from 9-4
