A half-day fiber workshop
You know the feeling. You walk into a fleece sale and every bag is calling your name. The crimp, the color, the smell of lanolin still in the lock — how do you choose? And once you do, then what?
In this half-day workshop, master natural dyer, weaver, spinner and fiber enthusiast Kathy takes a deep, unhurried look at fleece — from barn to basin. You'll handle a variety of fleeces and learn to evaluate each one: what attributes to look for, what the crimp and staple length are telling you, how to assess the shepherd's prep, and what to expect from a fleece before you ever bring it home. Then comes the scour: which cleaning method suits this fleece, which product, and why — because not all fleeces ask for the same treatment.
It's the workshop that answers the questions you've been too embarrassed to ask or didn’t even know you could ask.
All fleeces, basic supplies for cleaning and analyzing, and handouts included in the supply fee.
Open to all levels — whether you're buying your first fleece or your fiftieth, there's something here for you.
Supply Fee $25 to be paid to the instructor at the workshop
Saturday July 25 from 1:00-4:00 pm
Instructor - Kathy Sparks
