Botanically Dyed Shaniko Wool Mini skeins

$3.50

This has become my new go-to wool weaving yarn. It’s durable and a bit more dense that my previous standard weaving yarn, giving more stitch definition. I am also really pleased with the way it soaks up and shows off all the botanical colors. 25 yards is a great length for little loom weaving, colorwork and small projects.

25 yards/Worsted weight

Perfect for tapestry weaving or small knitted accents that celebrate natural blends.

  • Fiber: 100% Shaniko wool

  • Weight: 3-ply worsted

  • Yardage: 25 yds

  • Hand dyed in small batches at Small Acre Farm

  • Care: Gentle hand wash, cool water, pH-neutral soap, air dry away from sunlight

A note about how I list my small batches of botanically dyed yarn Because each batch can be different, I list individual color batches separately in the drop down. If you see two colors that look similar, they are different batches and the colors may vary, if only slightly.

If you are looking for larger quantities, let me know. I sometimes have whole skeins of a color available.

Botanical dyeing is an amazing adventure. Colors from the earth are beautiful and almost magically compliment one another. Part of the adventure of botanical dyes is that every batch is unique, rarely to be duplicated exactly, even with the same recipe. Some colors that look very similar have different names. That means they are from separate batches and may have subtle or not so subtle differences. It is always a good idea to acquire as much as you think you will need for your project.
