Exploring Texture in Spinning

Silk, hemp, various wools, alpaca, noil, camel, bamboo, and the list goes on. Spend the day exploring different textures of spinning materials and how they spin up by themselves as well as carded into batts. The goal of the class is to gain an understanding of how to create textured yarns that are useful for you.

Experience Level: Advanced beginner through experienced spinners

What you need to bring: A spinning wheel (the course can be adapted for spindle spinners). You need to know how your wheel works and be able to spin and ply. Please bring extra bobbins. A limited number of spinning wheels can be rented for $10 each.

Materials cost: $40 for spinning fiber

Class schedule: Sunday July 27, 9:00-4:00

Instructor: Erika Lindgren

This is a full day class. We offer a box lunch option or you can bring your own. Look for the lunch listing with the rest of the workshops here.
