Welcome to our new online botanical dye experience, Field Notes in Color!
For six weeks we’ll dive into the adventure of botanical dyeing. These experiences are focused on community, sharing our experiences and noticing.
The workshop includes:
Supply box with dyestuffs, yarns, mordants, journal and some fun extras.
Six weeks in my private online community where we’ll share, ask questions, celebrate and become a special circle of friends.
Zoom* unboxing and wrap up meetings
Bonus bundle dye Zoom* class
Ongoing support from a hands on instructor/guide who has regular availability and endless enthusiasm for her students and the magic of plant color.
*All three Zoom sessions will be recorded and available if you can’t make it to them live.
What you’ll need:
A stainless steel pot that is dedicated to dyeing
Something for stirring. I like a big industrial stainless spoon but a good stick works just as well.
A second vessel-bucket, a second pot…. It doesn’t have to be fancy.
Non-reactive (stainless or plastic) tongs are nice but not critical.
Heat source.
Gram scale. I can help you if don’t have one because I’ll be dyeing right along with the class.
